Mobile Devices, Which Devices Work Hard and Play Hard?

Access devices, mobile broadband 2G or 3G networks, enter include laptops, PDAs, BlackBerrys, smart phones, and soon the iPhone. But what can help you be productive and entertain yourself?

LAPTOPS

Advantages:

Laptops can display full Web pages, in full screen mode and can display your productivity, planning and e-mail programs work. You can also play music and video.

Disadvantages:

They are bigger and more expensive than handhelds, and theyCell phone can not fulfill obligations.

PDAs

Advantages:

They are designed for productivity and can synchronize with popular programs such as Outlook. They are like a kind of mini-laptops with an interactive screen that includes popular species of palm.

Disadvantages:

They are not so much fun, but most do not play music or videos and they are not mobile. You will need to access a service contract for mobile broadband services on the usual mobile phone service. Although they areBeginning to the multimedia elements such as photo-organizer, MP3 and video players and ad page eBooks, but they can not replace your laptop. So, basically you have to carry both around and you sync from time to time.

Blackberrys

Advantages:

Similar to a PDA, they can access e-mails and Web pages, the organizers, many do as a modem for a laptop. Some can play MP3 and run video and mobile phone functions, such as the BlackBerry Pearl. TraditionalBlackBerrys are full keyboard, support for viewing attachments and quad-band (that is, they can connect on 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM / GPRS and EDGE) networks.

Disadvantages:

For access to wireless services that they need services from your regular cell service and they are not much fun. Most do not play media content such as videos or music.

SMARTPHONES

Advantages:

Smartphones combine PDA and mobile phone capabilities. They support the productive activities such asChecking email, but also all leading mobile phone functions.

Disadvantages:

You need service add-ons on your regular phone service to use for its features and still can not replace a laptop. They are reference for the kind of information easily online, or your schedule, but you will still have to synchronize every so often.

iPhone

Advantages:

This little device plays music that can retrieve e-mails, instant messaging and cell phone leadsFunctions.

Disadvantages:

Currently, a two-year Cingular contract is required to use this device. Moreover, although the interactive screen is cool, it is difficult to use, the limits of their productive skills. The iPhone is too expensive, much more than a PDA or BlackBerry, but designed to be more fun than productive.

So, all in all, your laptop is still among the most productive and entertaining device that you can use to access mobile broadband services, but far from pocket size. And the pocket size devices provide limited functionality.

So, what is the best combination of functionality and fun? I think a small multimedia laptop and an inexpensive smartphone (you until you) get back together with your laptop.
